Barbuda Blue Halo Initiative
The Barbuda Blue Halo project is an initiative whose goal is to empower the people of Barbuda to restore their coastal waters by developing a Sustainable Coastal Policy that is based on science, supports coastal and fishing livelihoods, deeply involves and encourages stakeholder participation, and includes the creation of sanctuary zones (closed to fishing) in order to replenish fish populations and restore a healthy ecosystem around the island of Barbuda. – basically using the ocean without using it up.
